recomBead Treponema
against Treponema pallidum in human serum and plasma
The Mikrogen recomBead Treponema tests are qualitative immunoassays, using recombinantly produced antigens, for the detection of IgG or IgM antibodies against Treponema pallidum. They allow a flexible combination of the advantages of ELISA and confirmatory testing on one plate. Based on recombinantly produced antigens, they can be used as a confirmatory test for Treponema infection, just like the immunoblot.

Advantages
- Reliable screening by immunodominant antigens produced by recombinant techniques:
Recombinant antigen | Function | Size [kDa] |
| Tp47 | Membrane protein | 47 |
| TmpA | Membrane protein | 42 |
| Tp257 (Gpd) | Glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase, Membrane protein | 39 |
| Tp453 | Membrane protein | 28 |
| Tp17 | Membrane protein | 17 |
| Tp15 | Membrane protein | 15 |
- Single antigens immobilized on differentiable, color-coded microparticles (beads)
- Minimal cross-reactivity
- Low sample volume sufficient (10 µl)
- Very high measurement accuracy and reproducibility of test results
- Ideally suited for high sample throughput
- Fully automated processing, software-based evaluation (recomQuant) and connection to the laboratory information system possible
Safe and reliable
Validity check by integrated controls (incubation, conjugate and negative control)
Flexible and compatible
Combination of all Mikrogen recomBead immunoassays possible on one plate - uniform processing and interchangeable reagents
High Standard
CE mark: The recomBead Treponema tests meet the high requirements of the EC Directive 98/79/EC for in vitro diagnostic medical devices
